The 2023-24 Panini Obsidian Soccer is Panini's premium design-focused product, released October 30, 2024. With just 7 cards per .95 hobby box — 4 of which are guaranteed auto/relic hits — this is the highest hit-density product in Panini's soccer lineup. The 200-card base set features the distinctive dark Obsidian aesthetic with Electric Etch patterns that give each card a moody, premium feel. The parallel rainbow runs through exceptionally low numbers: Electric Etch Red Pulsar /49, Orange /40, Red Crystals /30, Purple Flood /25, Blue /20, Neon Blue Flood /15, White Pulsar /11, Gold Flood /10, Red Flood /10, Contra /9, Green /5, Neon Green Flood /3, and Blue Finite 1/1. Every numbered card is genuinely scarce. The 4 hits per box include Jersey Autographs (auto + jersey swatch), Dual Jersey Ink (two swatches + auto), Lightning Strike Signatures, and other auto/relic combinations. The die-cut Supernova and Vitreous inserts feature unique card shapes that are visually striking. Color Blast Black is the Obsidian twist on the iconic Color Blast insert — landing approximately 1 per case. With approximately 2,000 hobby cases produced, Obsidian has a controlled print run that keeps all content scarce.
